West Bengal Fire and Emergency Services is the state owned service that attends fire/rescue calls through out the Indian State of West Bengal, including the city of Kolkata. Fire Service in West Bengal is the oldest Fire Service in the country.

West Bengal Fire and Emergency Services invites applications for the following posts:

Fire Operator
Posts: 466 (Gen-284, SC-95, ST-19, OBC- 44, Ex-Serviceman – 24)
Remuneration: Candidates will get remuneration of Rs. 5400-25200.
Age limit: Candidates should be between 20-27 years as on 1.01.2010
Qualification: Candidate should passed Madhyamik or equivalent examination from a recognized board or University.
Desirable:
1. A certificate from Industrial Training in Civil Engineering/Electrical Engineering/Mechanical Engineering/Automobile Engineering/ Hydraulic Engineering.
2. Candidate should have Swimming Certificate from recognized Club or Institute.
3.  Candidate should have driving licence for light or medium vehicle.
