Visva Bharati University was founded by Sri Rabindranath Tagore. It was started with 5 students only. The motto of this university is “Yatra Visvam Bhavtyekanidam”. The main aim of Shantiniketan is to bring into more intimate relation with one another, through patient study and research, the different cultures of the East on the basis of their underlying unity. Visva Bharati was declared as Central University and “An Institution of National Importance” in 1951. It is today recognized as a modern university with diverse concern and interests.

Visva Bharati University invites applications for its Agro Economics Research Center for the following posts:

1. Director
   Pay scale: PB-4 Rs. 37,400-67,000/- + AGP of Rs.10000/-
   Age limit: Maximum 45 years
   Qualifications: Candidate should have masters degree in Economics/Agricultural Economics with Doctoral Degree and candidates with experience of planning, organizing and supervising field/policy oriented research studies both at regional and national levels will be preferred.
   Experience: At least 10 years of experience in post-graduate teaching and/or experience in research at the University/ National level Institutions including experience of guiding research at doctoral level.
2. Deputy Director
   Pay scale: PB-3, Rs. 15,600-39,100/- + AGP of Rs.8000/-
   Age limit: Maximum 40 years
   Qualifications: Candidate should have masters degree in Economics/Agricultural Economics followed with Doctoral Degree in the relevant field.
   Experience: At least 5 years of experience of teaching and/or research in the position of Lecturer or equivalent.
3. Research Officer ( OBC )
   Pay scale: PB-3, Rs. 15,600-39,100/- + AGP of Rs.6000/-
   Age limit: Maximum 35 years
   Qualifications: Candidates should have Masters degree in Economics/ Agricultural Economics from an Indian University/ or equivalent degree with at least 55% marks from a foreign University and NET/SLET qualified.
4. Office Superintendent
   Pay scale: PB-2, Rs. 9,300-34,800/- + GP of Rs.4200/-
   Age limit: Maximum 35 years
   Qualifications: Candidate should have Bachelor Degree from a recognized University.
   Experience: At least 3 years of experiences in office work in social science organization.
5. PA to Director
   Pay scale: PB-2, Rs. 9,300-34,800/- + GP of Rs.4200/-
   Age limit: Maximum 35 years
   Qualifications: Candidate should have Bachelors Degree / masters Degree.
   Experience: At least 3 years of experiences in computer typing (MS Office) in social science organization.
6. Accounts Assistants ( SC )
   Pay scale: PB-1, Rs. 5,200-20,200/- + GP of Rs.2400/-
   Age limit: Maximum 35 years
   Qualifications: Candidate should have passed Higher Secondary from a recognized Board/ Council and should have Bachelors degree .
   Experience: At least 3 years of experiences in assisting of maintaining accounts in a research organization.
7. Research Fellow ( Temporary initially for a period of 3 years )
   No. of posts: 2
   Pay scale: Rs. 14,000 + HRA for 1st and 2nd year and Rs. 16,000 + HRA for
   subsequent years.
   Age limit: Maximum 40 years
   Qualifications: Candidate should have master degree in economics/ agricultural
   economics with at least 55% marks and knowledge of of computer software (such as SPSS, XCEL, etc.) is desirable.
