Steel Authority of India Limited ( SAIL ) is the no. one steel producing company in India. It manufactures and sells a broad range of steel products, including hot and cold rolled sheets and coils, galvanised sheets, electrical sheets, structural, railway products, plates, bars and rods, stainless steel and other alloy steels. It has 5 integrated plants and 3 special steel plants. The demand of SAIL’s products are in the domestic as well as in the international market. Visvesvaraya Iron and Steel Plant, a Unit of Steel Authority of India Limited is a leading producer of Alloy and Special Steels situated in Bhadravathi, 18 Kms from Shimoga, Karnataka.

SAIL invites applications for various posts with the pay scale of Rs.8630- 3%-12080/- and Grade S-1 and candidate should have the age group between 18-28 years:

1. Blaster
   Department: Mines
   No. of posts: 1
   Qualifications: Candidate should be 10th pass with valid Blaster’s Certificate issued by Director General of Mines Safety .
   Experience: At least 2 years of experience as Blaster.
2. Mining Mate
   Department: Mines
   No. of posts: 2
   Qualifications: Candidate should be 10th pass with valid Mining Mate Certificate restricted
   to open cast mining issued by Director General of Mines Safety or Authorities.
   Experience: At least 2 years of experience as a mining mate in Open Caste Mechanised
   Mines.
3. II Class Boiler Attendant
   Department: Gas Fuels and Boilers
   No. of posts: 3
   Qualifications: Candidate should posses SSLC with ATS- I/II Class Boiler attendant Certificate issued from the office of Director of Factories & Boilers of the States concerned.
   Experience: At least 2 years of experience in independent Boiler Operation.
4. Mining Operator
   Department: Mines
   No. of posts: 2
   Qualifications: Candidate should be 10th pass with ITI from recognised Board with heavy duty license issued by Road Traffic Authorities.
   Experience: Candidate should have at least 2 years of experience of operating heavy equipments like Excavator, wheel loaders etc.

Last date: 7th April 2010.

Application fees: DD of Rs.250/- drawn in favour of ‘SAIL–VISL’ and payable at Bhadravati, (Shimoga Dist.) / Bangalore, (Karnataka), on any nationalised bank with Branch Code Number.
