Vacancy in Sahitya Akademi 2010


Sahitya Akademi is an autonomous body and was formed on 12th march 1954. It was inaugurated by  Maulana Azad & Dr. S. Radhakrishnan. It promotes Indian literature, in all its richness and diversity, throughout the world. The main aim of this academy is to foster and coordinate literary activities in all the Indian languages and to promote through them the cultural unity of India.

Sahitya Akademi invites applications for the posts mentioned below:

  1. Publication Assistant
    Area of placement: Chennai Office
    Age limit: Candidate should not be more than 30 years.
    Remuneration: PB-2 of Rs. 9,300-34,800/- + GP of Rs. 4200/-
    Qualifications: candidate should be graduate with diploma in printing OR at least 5 years of exp. in a printing press or a publishing house or a Government undertaking concerned with book publishing. And he should have the knowledge of various processes of printing and book publication with knowledge of one or more languages and literatures with ability to
    handle literary material and knowledge of Computer application is also required.
  2. Assistant Editor
    Area of placement : Head office
    Age limit: Candidate should not be more than 50 years.
    Remuneration: PB – 3 of Rs. 15,600-39,100 + GP of Rs. 5400/-
    Qualifications: Candidate should have PG Degree in a language/literature recognized by the Akademi with good knowledge of English/Hindi and one or more Indian languages of
    the region concerned with 5 years of experience in editing literary and scholarly manuscripts and over-seeing them through the various stages of production.

    hello there

    i am a resident of delhi,to be honest i have not done any professional courses in literature but i am an MBA in HR,on the contrary have always been interested in arts cultures and music as well as theatre but because our family and society does not accept this field with open arms i had to go off the track.but now i want to be a part of it and get associated with such a wonderful world of art and culture i will request u to consider me if feel appropriate

    i am from orissa,currently doing BE in computer science and engineereing(3rd year) in Srinivas Institute of Technology.till now i haven’t yet exposed to literature field. but i would like to work to in a field where i can work with our national language(HINDI).so that i can contribute a part of my technical knowledge in the field of arts and literature.
