National Institute of Technology, Rourkela (NIT) is the no. one institution at national level for technical education. The institute is managed by the Board of Governors of National Institute of Technology (Rourkela) Society. It promote national integration by supporting the development of the country by producing quality Engineers and Scientists in Graduate and Post-Graduate levels in various branches of Engineering and Science.

NIT invites applications for the faculty positions in various departments and the details are as following:

1. Assistant Professors
Pay scale: PB-3 Rs.15600-39100 with AGP Rs. 6000/-
Age limit: Candidates should not be more than 35 years.

2. Associate Professors
Pay scale: PB-4 Rs. 37400-67000/- with AGP Rs. 9000/-
Age limit: Not more than 40 years.
Experience: At least 6 years of experience in teaching/research/industries.

3. Professors
Pay scale: PB-4 Rs. Rs. 37400-67000/- with AGP Rs.10000/-
Age limit: Not more than 50 years.
Experience: At least 10 years of experience in teaching/research/industries.

Qualifications for all the posts: Candidate should have Ph. D degree with 1st class (60%) at B.Tech. / M.Sc. / M.A / MBA level in appropriate branch.
