National Institute of Open Schooling ( NIOS ) was formed in November,1989 by the Government of India under the Ministry of Human Resource Development(MHRD). It was also known as National Open School (NOS). It provides various Vocational, Life Enrichment and community oriented courses besides General and Academic Courses at Secondary and Senior Secondary level. In other words , it caters to the needs of a heterogeneous group of learners up to pre-degree level.

NIOS invites applications for various posts on deputation basis:
Age limit for each post: 56 years

1. Deputy Director /Regional Director
   No. of posts: 6
   Place of posting: Bangalore, Bhubaneswar, Dehradun, Imphal, Gandhi Nagar and Vishakhapatnam.
   Pay scale: Rs.15600-39100/- with GP of Rs. 7600/-
   Qualifications: Candidate should have Master’s Degree in any subject with at least 55 % marks with working knowledge of computer operations, Hindi & English.
2. Section Officer
   No. of posts: 6
   Place of posting: Bangalore, Bhubaneswar, Dehradun, Imphal, Gandhi Nagar and Vishakhapatnam.
   pay scale: Rs.9300-34800/- with GP of Rs. 4600/-
   Qualifications: Candidate should be Graduate with working knowledge of computer operations.
   Experience: At least 3 years of experience in administration/accounts with knowledge of rules and procedures as applicable to Govt./autonomous organization.
3. Electronic Engineer (Electronic service Centre/ETV)
   No. of posts: 1
   Place of posting: Head quarter at Noida
   pay scale: 15600-39100/- with GP of Rs.5400/-
   Qualification: Candidate should have a degree in Electronic & Communication Engineering or equivalent with working knowledge of TV Engineering and Satellite Transmission and service & maintenance of electronics equipment.
   Experience: At least 3 years of experience OR Diploma in Electronics/Electronics & Communication Engineering with 5 years of experience in the pay scale of Rs. 9300-34800 + Grade Pay of Rs. 4200/-
