The Defence Institute of Advanced Technology (DIAT) came into existence in 1952. It is an autonomous Institute fully funded by Department of Defence Research & Development, Ministry of Defence and is an ISO 9001:2000 certified Institute. It is a centre of Excellence of international repute for Education, Training & research in Advanced Technologies with a view to strengthen national security and self reliance. Its main aim is to cultivate core Competencies in Basic & Applied Research in contemporary Technologies.

DIAT ( DU ) invites applications for the various non teaching posts and the details are :

1. Assistant Librarian
   No. of posts: 1
   Age limit: maximum 40 years
   Pay scale: Rs.15600-39100/-+GP of Rs.5400/-
   Qualifications: Candidate should have Master’s Degree in Library Science/Information Science Documentation with or an equivalent professional Degree with at least 55 % of the marks or its equivalent grade of B in UGC seven-point scale.
   Experience: at least 5 years of experience
2. Tradesman
   No. of posts 12
   Age limit: Maximum 28 years
   Pay scale: Rs. 5200-20200/-+GP of Rs. 1900/-
   Qualifications: Candidate should be 10th pass with full time ITI in one of the trades like Machinist, Carpentry, Blacksmith, Fitting, Electronics, Electrical, Welding, Tin Smith & Turner disciplines or its equivalent grade duly awarded by Vocational Education & Examination Board.
3. Office Assistant
   No. of posts: 35
   Age limit: 28 years
   pay scale: Rs. 5200-20200/-+GP of Rs. 2400/-
   Qualifications: Candidate should be graduate with the speed of 8000 key depressions per hour for Data Entry in the computer and Degree in Law/Post Graduation in Social Science or
   Commerce/P.G. Diploma in Business Management, Tax Law/Labour Laws is preferred.
4. Senior Stenographer
   No. of posts: 1
   Age limit: 33 years
   pay scale: Rs.9300-34800/-+GP of Rs. 4200/-
   Qualifications: Candidate should be graduate and should have qualified the Stenographers
   examination held by a State/Central Board or its equivalent examination and should know typing with speed of 40 words per minute.
5. Steno Typist
   No. of posts: 12
   Age limit: Maximum 28 years
   pay scale: Rs. 5200-20200/-+GP of Rs. 2400/-
   Qualifications: Candidate should be graduate and should have qualified the Stenographers
   examination held by a State/Central Board or its equivalent examination and should know typing with speed of 40 words per minute.
6. Driver grade ‘A’
   No. of posts : 11
   Age limit: Maximum 28 years
   pay scale: Rs. 5200-20200/-+GP of Rs. 1900/-
   Qualifications: Candidate should be 10th pass with a valid driving license for 2/3wheelers and light and heavy vehicles; and should have experience of driving all light and heavy vehicles and also knowledge of their maintenance and repair.
7. Fireman ‘A’
   No. of posts: 10
   Age limit: Maximum 28 years
   pay scale: Rs. 5200-20200/-+GP of Rs. 1800/-
   Qualifications: Candidate should be 10th pass with a valid driving license for light and
   heavy vehicles; and physical fitness & capability to perform strenuous duties.
8. Library Assistant
   No. of posts: 9
   Age limit: Maximum 28 years
   pay scale: Rs. 5200-20200/-+GP of Rs. 2400/-
   Qualifications: Candidate should posses Bachelor Degree in Library Science or equivalent with at least second division or its equivalent grade.

* candidates should have the knowledge of computer applications for all the posts.
