Central Electricity Regulatory Commission ( CERC ) was formed on 24th July 1998. It regulate the tariff of generating companies owned or controlled by the Central Government. The main aim of CERC is to encourage efficiency and economy in bulk power markets. It also improves the quality of supply and fill the gap of demand supply increase the interests of consumers.

CERC invites applications for the following posts:

Last date for the submission of application form: 31st March 2010.

1. 2 posts are for Deputy Chief (Legal)
Pay scale per month: Rs.15600- 39100 with GP of Rs. 7600/-
Qualifications: Candidates should have the degree of law with specialization in regulation.
Experience: Should have the exp. at least in Judicial/Quasi-Judicial legal matters including proceedings, petitions, pleadings, listing of the case laws.

2. 1 post is for Assistant Chief (Engineering)
Pay scale per month: Rs.15600-39100 with GP Rs. 6600/-
Qualification: Candidate should be graduate with diploma in Engineering.
Experience: Candidates should have the experience in systems planning and operation, transmission maintenance and operation gas generation technologies, coal thermal
or hydro power, preferably familiarity with techno-economic appraisal.

3. 1 post is for Deputy Chief (Engineering)
Pay scale per month: Rs.15600- 39100 with GP of Rs. 7600/-
Qualification: Candidate should be graduate with diploma in Engineering.

4.  1 post is for Assistant Chief (Legal)
Pay scale per month: Rs.15600- 39100 with GP of Rs. 6000/-
Qualification: Candidates should have the degree of law with specialization in regulation.
Experience: Should have the exp. at least in Judicial/Quasi-Judicial legal matters including proceedings, petitions, pleadings, listing of the case laws.

Age limit: Candidates applying should not be more than 56 years.
