The first Public Service Commission was established on 1st October 1926 and then The Union Public Service Commission ( UPSC ) was formed on 26th January 1950 under Article 315 of the Constitution of India. Its main duty is to select persons to man the various Central Civil Services and Posts and the Services common to the Union and States. The UPSC consists of a Chairman & 10 members and it is is serviced by a Secretariat headed by a Secretary with two Additional Secretaries, a number of Joint Secretaries, Deputy Secretaries and other supporting staff.

UPSC invites applications from Indian Nationals for the post of work managers in Ordanance Factory Board, Department of Defence Production , Ministry of Defence, Civilians in Defence Services and the details are as following :

1. Junior Work Manager ( Mechanical )
   No. of posts : 68
   Age limit : Minimum 21 years & Maximum 30 years of age.
   Pay scale : Rs. 9300 – 34800/- with Grade Pay of Rs. 5400/-
   Qualification : Candidate should have the degree of Mechanical engineering.
2. Junior Work Managers ( Chemical )
   No. of posts : 21
   Age limit : Minimum 21 years & Maximum 30 years of age.
   Pay scale : Rs. 9300 – 34800/- with Grade Pay of Rs. 5400/-
   Qualification : Candidate should have the degree of M.Sc in Chemistry of degree of Chemical Engineering / Technology .

Last date for the receipt of application : 23rd September 2010
Date of written Test : 9th January 2011.
Application fees : Rs. 50/- in form of Central Recruitment Fee Stamp only.
