The first  Public Service Commission was set up on 1.10.1926 by the British Indian Government in response to the demands of Indian politicians that the super Civil Services be Indianized. The Union Public Service Commission ( UPSC ) is a constitutional body in India authorised to conduct examinations for appointment of various civil services of India. It advice the Government on all the matters relating to method of Recruitment to various services and posts. In accordance with the provisions contained in Article 320 of the Constitution read with the provisions of Union Public Service Commission Regulations 1958, Recruitment Rules of all Group ‘A’ and Group ‘B’ posts in various Ministries/Departments of Government of India are required to be framed in Consultation with the Commission.

UPS invites applications for the following positions:

Assistant Commandants (Group A ) in the ( CPF)
Posts: 753 ( BSF-284, CRPF-326, CISF-82, ITBP-06, SSB-55)
Age limit: Candidates should be between 20-25 years as on 1.08.2010
Qualification: Candidates should have a Bachelors Degree from a recognized University or an equivalent qualification.
Physicals Standards: Candidates should be physically fit according to the Regulations given in notice.
Sex: Both Male and Female candidates are eligible for appointment to the post of Assistant Commandants in CRPF and CISF and for the post of Assistant Commandants in BSF, ITB and SSB only Male candidates are eligible.
Nationality: Candidates those are not Indian citizens shall except with the consent of the Central Government signified in writing be appointed or employed under these Rules.

How to apply: Candidates who wish to apply Offline must apply in the Common Application form devised by the Commission for its examinations, which can be purchased from the designated Head Post Offices/Post Offices (specified in Appendix III of the Notice) throughout the country against cash payment of Rs. 20/-.  Each such Form can be used only once and only for one examination.

Last Date: Online Application is 21.06.2010
Written Examination: 24.10.2010
