The University Grants Commission ( UGC ) was established on 28th December 1953 and was inaugurated by late Shri Maulana Abul Kalam Azad. It is a statutory body of the Government of India through an Act of Parliament for the coordination, determination and maintenance of standards of university education in India. It promotes and coordinates the education of universities. It serves as a vital link between the Union and state governments and institutions of higher learning and advices the Central and State governments on the measures necessary for improvement of university education. It opened various regional offices with the aim to bring about decentralization and to ensure that a large number of colleges through the country, which are covered under Section 2(f) and 12(B) of the UGC Act, will have better opportunities of response to their needs and problems by way of easier access.

UGC invites applications for the various positions and the details are as following :

1. 4 posts are for Junior Accounts Officers
   Pay scale : Rs. 9300-34800/- with Grade Pay of Rs.4200/-
   Qualifications : Candidate should be graduate and must have passed JAO ( Civil ) examination from any organized accounts cadre of Govt. of India and should have been worked as an officer under central government in the pay scale of PB-2 Rs.9300-34800/- + 4200/- (Grade Pay) or equivalent.
2. 6 posts are for Accounts Officers
   Pay scale : Rs. 9300-34800/- with Grade Pay of Rs.4600/-
   Qualifications : Candidate should be graduate and must have passed JAO ( Civil ) examination from any organized accounts cadre of Govt. of India and should have been worked as an officer under central government with 3 years of regular service in posts in the scale of Rs.9300- 34800/- +4600/- (Grade Pay) or Equivalent.
