Tumkur University is a newly established university formed in 2004. It was started with the aim to cater higher education to young generation in the area.

Tumkur University invites applications from Indian national for the various teaching posts:

1. Professors
No.of posts: 11 ( Biochemistry –1, Business administration – 1, Commerce-1, Economics-1, English-1, History-1, Maths-1, Library-1, Kannada-1, Political sc.-1, Social work-1 )
Qualification: Candidates should be an  outstanding scholar with established reputation who has made significant contribution to knowledge

2. Associate Professors
No. of posts: 21 ( Biochemistry-2, Business administration-2, Commerce-2, economics-2, English-2, History-2, Kannada-2, Library-2, Maths-1, Political sc.-2, Social work-2 )
qualification: Candidates should have the doctoral degree or equivalent with at least 55% marks.
Experience: Candidate should have at least 5 years of experience of teaching and/or research excluding the period spent for obtaining the research degrees and has made some mark in the areas of scholarship as evidenced by quality of publications, contributions to educational innovation, design of new courses.

3. Assistant Professors
No. of posts: 109 ( Bio chemistry-4, Bio technology-2, Business administration-2, Chemistry-12, Commerce-9, computer Science-6, Economics-7, Electronics-3, English-10, History-4, Journalism-1, Kannada-8, Library-2, Maths-12, Biology-1, Physics-14, Political sc. –7, Sociology-3, social work-2 )
Qualification: Candidate should posses 55% marks or, an equivalent grade of B in the 7 point scale with latter grades O, A, B, C, D, E&F at the Master’s degree level in the relevant subject from an Indian University, or, an equivalent degree from a foreign University.

4. University librarian
No. of posts: 1
Qualification: Candidates should have masters degree in Library science with at least 55% marks / its equivalent grade of B in the UGC seven point scale.
Experience: At least 18 years of exp. as College Librarian.

5. Deputy Librarian
No. of posts: 1
Qualification: Candidates should have masters degree in Library science with at least 55% marks and M.Phil/Ph.D. degree in library science/information science/documentation /achieves and manuscript-keeping, computerization of library.
Experience: 5 years of exp. as an assistant college librarian.

6. Assistant Librarian
No. of posts: 1
Qualifications: Candidates should have masters degree in Library science with at least 55% marks.
