Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) main function is to make direct recruitment to state, subordinate and Ministerial services, conduct department examination for Government employees and advice Government in important matters relating to framing of recruitment rules, disciplinary matters, making appointments, promotions and conduct the examination on behalf of Ministry of Defence, Government of India etc.

TNPSC invites applications for direct recruitment to the following positions:
1. Assistant Engineer ( Civil ) in Water Resources Organization, PWD
Posts: 185
Age limit: Candidates should not be more than 30 years as on 1.07.2010
Remuneration: Candidates will get remuneration of Rs.9300-34800.
2. Assistant Engineer (Civil) in Building Organisation, PWD
Posts: 29
Age limit: Candidates should not be more than 30 years as on 1.07.2010
Remuneration: Candidates will get remuneration of Rs.9300-34800.
3. Assistant Engineer (Electrical in PWD)
Posts: 14
Age limit: Candidates should not be more than 30 years as on 1.07.2010
Remuneration: Candidates will get remuneration of Rs.9300-34800.
4. Assistant Engineer in the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department
Posts: 255
Age limit: Candidates should not be more than 30 years as on 1.07.2010
Remuneration: Candidates will get remuneration of Rs.9300-34800.
5. Assistant Engineer (Civil) in Highways Department
Posts: 171
Age limit: Candidates should not be more than 30 years as on 1.07.2010
Remuneration: Candidates will get remuneration of Rs.9300-34800.
6. Assistant Inspector of Factories
Posts: 6
Age limit: Candidates should not be more than 30 years as on 1.07.2010
Remuneration: Candidates will get remuneration of Rs.9300-34800.
7. Junior Electrical Inspector
Posts: 1
Age limit: Candidates should not be more than 30 years as on 1.07.2010
Remuneration: Candidates will get remuneration of Rs.9300-34800.
