St. Stephens College , Delhi came into existence on 1st February 1881. It was founded by the Cambridge Mission. At the very first it was affiliated to Calcutta University and after that to the Punjab University. It develops the personality of each student studying there.

8. Physics -
   No.of post: 4 for permanent
9. History -
   No.of posts: 1 for permanent and 3 for temporary
10. Philosophy -
    No.of posts: 1 for permanent
11. Mathematics -
    No.of posts: 1 for permanent and 1 for temporary posts

Qualification: Good academic record with 55% marks. Candidates should have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC, CSIR or a similar test accredited by the UGC. However, those candidates who hold a Ph.D Degree (in accordance with UGC Regulations 2009) in the concerned subject are exempted from NET.
