Staff Selection Commission ( SSC ) was constituted on 4th November 1975 and it came into effective from  26th September 1977. It is an attached office of the Department of Personnel and Training and comprises of Chairman, two Members and a Secretary-cum-Controller of Examinations who are appointed on such terms and conditions as may be prescribed by the Central Government from time to time. The Commission is provided such supporting staff as considered necessary by the Central Government. Its headquarter is situated in New Delhi. All Examinations as well as administrative matters are submitted to the Chairman through two Members. The Secretary functions under both the Members.

SSC is going to hold a Combined All India Open Examination for recruitment for the posts of Data
Entry Operator and Lower Division Clerks and the details are as following :

1. Data Entry Operator ( DEO )
No. of vacancies : 34 ( 32 vacancies are in O/o the Controller General Patents, Designs & Trade Marks, Mumbai for their office located all over India and 2 vacancies in Ministry of Agriculture.)
Pay scale : Rs. 5200 – 20200/- with Grade Pay of Rs.  2400/-
Age limit : 18 to 27 years

2. Lower Division Clerk ( LDC )
Pay scale: Rs. 5200 – 20200/- with Grade Pay of Rs. 1900/-
Age limit : 18 – 27 years

Qualification for both the categories: Candidates should have passed 12th examination or equivalent from a recognized board.

Last date for the receipt of application form is 20th August 2010
Date of written examination : 31st October 2010
Application fees : Rs.100/- in the form of Central Recruitment Fees Stamp ( CRFS )
