Subordinate Services Commission was established on 4th November 1975 and it was re designated as Staff Selection Commission ( SSC ) on 26th September 1977. Its main duty is to make recruitment to various Class III (now Group “C”) (non-technical) posts in the various Ministries / Departments of the Govt. of India and in Subordinate Offices. Its headquarter is located in New Delhi and is headed by a Chairman who is assisted by two Members and a Secretary-cum-Controller of Examinations.

SSC invites applications from Indian Nationals for the following posts of Group ‘ C ‘ :

1. Scientific Assistant – I
   No. of posts : 1
   Department : Directorate of Plant Protection, Quarantine & Storage, Ministry of Agriculture, Department of Agriculture & Cooperation, Faridabad
   Pay scale : Rs. 5200 – 20200/- with GP of Rs. 2800/-
   Age limit ; 18 – 25 years
   Qualification : candidate should have the degree of B.Sc ( Agriculture ) .
2. Senior Scientific Assistant – III
   No. of posts : 7
   Department : Directorate of Plant Protection, Quarantine & Storage, Ministry of Agriculture, Department of Agriculture & Cooperation.
   Pay scale : Rs. 9300 – 34800/- with GP of Rs. 4200/-
   Age limit : 18 – 25 years
   Qualification : candidate should have the degree of B.Sc ( Agriculture ) .
3. Technical Officer – I
   No. of posts : 2
   Department : Directorate of Plant Protection, Quarantine & Storage, Ministry of Agriculture, Department of Agriculture & Cooperation.
   Pay scale : Rs. 5200 – 20200/- with GP of Rs. 2000/-
   Age limit : 18 – 25 years
   Qualification : Candidate should have passed the intermediate examination with Science in Zoology/Botany/Agriculture or passed 12th standard with with Zoology/Botany/ Agriculture.
4. Senior Library & Information Assistant
   No. of posts : 1
   Department : Botanical Survey of India, Ministry of Environment & Forests, Andaman & Nicobar Circle, P.O: Haddo, Port Blair.
   Pay scale : Rs. 9300 – 34800/- with GP of Rs. 4200/-
   Age limit : 18 – 30 years
   Qualification : Candidate should be graduate with the degree in Library Science and should have work experience in Modern Scientific Library.

Examination fees : Candidate should pay the fee of Rs. 50/- by means of "Central Recruitment Fee Stamps (CRFS)" only.
