The Sashastra Seema Bal ( SSB ) was established in 1963 by the Government of India under the administrative control of the Ministry of Home Affairs. It is also known as Border Guarding Force ( BGF ). The motto of SSB is to serve the Country with the highest level of professional excellence, dedication and devotion. It also promote a healthy working environment for men, ensuring professional development through training and modernization. It Prevent trans border crimes and unauthorized entries into   or exit from the territory of India and prevents smuggling and other illegal activities. It is an immense pride for each and every citizen of India by having SSB . SSB has served the Nation , in remote , far flung areas with missionary zeal to spread the message of national belonging , aiming at winning the hearts and minds of the people.

SSB invites applications for the various posts of Gazetted Group ‘A’ on deputation basis and the details are as following :

1. Commandant ( Ordnance )
   Pay scale : PB – 4 Rs-37,400-67,000/ with Grade Pay of 8,700/-
   Age limit : Candidate should not be more than 56 years of age.
   Qualification : Candidate should be a Lieutenant Colonel/Colonel of Army Ordnance Corps who has successfully undergone Armament and Ammunition Technical Officers Course.
   Experience : Candidate should have worked in Ammunition Depots for a minimum period of 12 years and should have experience in technical activities related to ammunition and explosives.
2. Chief Inspector of Armaments
   Pay scale : PB – 4 Rs-37,400-67,000/ with Grade Pay of 8,700/-
   Age limit : Candidate should not be more than 55 years of age.
   Qualification : Candidate should be an Officer of the rank of Lieutenant Colonel (Selection Grade) from Army Ordnance Corps on deputation or on re-employment basis after his retirement from the Army and should have done Material management course.
   Experience : At least 12 years of experience in handling and performing technical activities in Armament, Ammunition, and Explosive and should have worked in an Ammunition Depot for 2 to 4 years.
