The Bhabha Atomic Research Centre ( BARC ) was setup by Dr. Homi Jehangir Bhabha , who was an astute scientist and committed engineer, a dedicated architect, a meticulous planner and a perfect executive. BARC was formerly known as The Atomic Energy Establishment, Trombay (AEET). AEET was renamed as Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) on January 22, 1967 by the Prime Minister Indira Gandhi . It provides a broad spectrum of scientific and technological activities extending from basic laboratory bench scale research to scaled up plant level operations and its functional domain covers all walks of science and technology � stretching from classical school of thoughts to the emerging novel fields of interest.
BARC invites applications for the posts of Stipendiary Trainees for training in BARC Mumbai / Tarapur / Kalpakkam and the details are:
Stipendiary Trainees ( Category – I )

1.1 Mechanical Engineers: 32 posts
1.2 Chemical Engineers: 45 posts
1.3 Instrumentation: 8 posts
1.4 Electronics : 13 posts
1.5 Electrical : 11 posts
1.6 Information Technology : 3 posts
1.7 Metallurgy : 1 post
1.8 Telecommunication : 1 post
1.9 Chemistry : 33 posts
1.10 Physics : 48 posts
1.11 Computer Science : 6 posts
Age limit: 19 – 24 years
Pay scale: Rs.9300-34800/- with Grade Pay of Rs. 4200/-
Stipend: Rs. 9300/- per month
Qualifications:
For Post no. 1.1 to 1.8: Candidate should have diploma / Licentiate in Mechanical / Chemical /
Instrumentation / Electronics / Electrical Engg. / Information Technology / Metallurgy / Telecommunication with at least 60% marks.
For post no. 1.9: Candidate should have at least 60% marks in B.Sc.(Chemistry as principal and
Physics/ Mathematics/ Statistics/ Biology as subsidiary subjects).
For post no. 1.10 : Candidate should have at least 60% marks in B.Sc. (Physics as principal and
Mathematics/Statistics/ electronics/ Computer Science/ Chemistry as subsidiary subjects).
For post no. 1.11: Candidate should have at least 60% marks in B.Sc. with Physics, Chemistry and
Mathematics subjects and one year Diploma in Computer Science .
Duration of Training Period: 1 year
Note : Interested candidate should send application in a prescriber Performa to the Deputy Establishment Officer (R-I), Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Trombay, Mumbai-400 085 before 15th July 2010 and an envelop containing application form should be super scribed as “Application for the post of Category I indicating Post No. ______ and discipline/Name of the Post ______________ against Advertisement No.03/2010-R-I.
