Punjab Food and Civil Supplies department is under the administrative control of the Secretary, Food & Supplies. The main objective of the department is procurement of food grains i.e. wheat and rice for the Central Pool. State trading in food grains was introduced in the year 1956 and major function of the department is of procurement, storage and transportation of food grains.

Applications are invited for the following positions in Department of Food and Civil Supplies :

Inspector Legal Metrology
Posts: 21
Remuneration: Candidates will get remuneration of Rs.10300-34800/-
Age limit: Candidates should be between 18-37 years as on 18.06.2010.
Qualification: Candidates should have a graduate degree in Science (with Physics as one of the subject), technology or engineering or having a diploma in engineering from a recognised University. Candidates who have appeared for the qualifying degree, up to the last date of receipt of applications may also apply, provided they show proof of having appeared in qualifying degree examination. Such candidates will be required to show proof of their having passed the exam before their selection and Candidates should have passed Punjabi subject up to Matric standard.

Note: Maximum age Limit is relaxable to the extent of 5 years for SC/ST/Backward Classes and up to 10 years for physically handicapped persons. Applicants in Govt. service shall be eligible up to 45 years of age. Govt. Servants must send advance copies of their applications in the prescribed form along with requisite/fee and copies of certificates by the prescribed date. However they will be considered for selection only if their applications through proper channel are received or “No Objection Certificate” from the department concerned is furnished at any time before the selection process.
Fees: Candidates should make a cross bank draft/pay order/ bankers cheque in favour of Director Food and Civil Supplies Payable at Chandigarh. For General Candidates it is of Rs.700/-, for SC Rs.350/- and all the Ex-serviceman are exempted from the payment fee.
