The National Institute of Ocean Technology (NIOT) is an autonomous society established in November 1993 by the government of India under the department of Ministry of Earth Sciences. Its main aim is to develop reliable indigenous technology to solve the various engineering problems related with harvesting of non-living and living resources in the Indian Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ). By doing this , it develop a knowledgebase and institutional capabilities in India for management of ocean resources and environment.

NIOT invites applications for the following posts :

1. Project Scientists – II
   No. of posts : 2
   Salary : Rs. 41400 – 46900/- consolidated
   Age limit : maximum 40 years
   Qualification : Candidate should have 1st Class B.E. /B.Tech in Civil Engineering or 1st class in M.Sc Physical Oceanography with 4 years experience in relevant field OR Class M.E. / M.Tech Civil with 2 years experience in relevant field.
2. Project Scientists – I
   No. of posts : 12
   Salary : Rs. 39400 – 44600/- consolidated
   Age limit : Maximum 35 years
   Qualification : candidate should posses 1st Class B.E. /B.Tech in Civil Engineering with 4 years experience in the relevant field.
3. Project Technical Assistant
   No. of posts : 11
   Salary : Rs. 24900 – 28200/- consolidated
   Age limit : Maximum 30 years
   Qualification : candidate should posses 1st Class Diploma in Engineering in the relevant field with 5 years of experience in relevant field.
4. Project Skilled Assistant
   no. of posts : 4
   Salary : Rs. 13000 – 14700/- consolidated
   Age limit : Maximum 26 years
   Qualification : Candidate should have done ITI Tradesman Course and should have at least 5 years of experience in relevant field.
5. Junior Research Fellow
   No. of posts : 2
   Salary : Rs. 16000/- + HRA
   Age limit : Maximum 28 years
   Qualification : candiadte should posses 1st class M.Sc Botany / Zoology / Microbiology / Biotechnology / Biochemistry with qualified NET (CSIR/UGC).
6. Senior Research Fellow
   no. of posts : 2
   Salary : Rs. 18000/- + HRA
   Age limit : Maximum 32 years
   Qualification : candidate should posses 1st class M.Sc Botany / Zoology / Microbiology / Biotechnology / Biochemistry having Minimum 2 yrs of research experience in the relevant field.
