The National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) was setup in November 1979 by the Government of India under the Ministry of Human Resource Development(MHRD). It provides opportunities to interested learners by making available the following Courses/Programmes of Study through open and distance learning (ODL) mode. It cater the needs of a heterogeneous group of learners up to pre-degree level. It operates through a network of five Departments, eleven Regional Centres and 3367 Accredited Institutions (Study Centres) in India and abroad. It has a current enrollment of about 1.5 million students at Secondary and Senior Secondary levels which makes it the largest open schooling system in the world.

NIOS invites applications for the various posts on deputation basis :

1. Deputy Director / Regional Director
   No. of posts : 5
   Location : Bengaluru, Dehradun, Imphal, Gandhinagar, Vishakhapatnam
   Qualification : Candidate should hold analogous post of Officer grade with Masters degree in any subject with at least 55% marks and should have working knowledge of computer operations and Hindi and English.
   Experience : Experience in an Open Learning/Distance Education.
2. Deputy Director ( Accounts )
   No. of posts : 1
   Qualification : Candidate should hold analogous post in the scale of Rs.10,000-325-15,200 (Pre-revised) with 5 years service in the grade on regular basis or 8 years in the grade of Rs.8,000-13,500 (Pre-revised) with knowledge of Hindi / English and computer applications.

Age limit : Candidate should not be more than 56 years of age.
Pay scale : Rs. 15600 – 39100/- with Grade Pay of Rs. 7600/-
