The National Informatics Centre ( NIC ) a high priority plan project  nucleated in 1976 by the Central Government. NIC was set up initially under the purview of Information, Planning and Analysis Group (IPAG) of the then Electronics Commission / the Department of Electronics (DOE).
NIC, under the Department of Information Technology of the Government of India, is a premier Science and Technology organization, at the forefront of the active promotion and implementation of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) solutions in the government. NIC has leveraged ICT to provide a robust communication backbone and effective support for  e-Governance to the Central Government, State Governments, UT Administrations, Districts and other Government bodies.

Applications are invited from Indian National for the following positions :

Stenographer Grade-III (English)
Posts: 3 (UR-2, OBC-1)
Age limit: Candidates should be between 18-27 years as on dated 4.07.2010
Remuneration: Candidates will get remuneration of Rs.5200-20200.
Qualification: Candidates should be Matriculation or equivalent from Government recognized Board and having speed in shorthand 100/80 w.p.m in English.
Desirable: Candidates should be graduate with having knowledge of Computer Operation.
Lower Division Clerk
Posts: 9 (UR-6, SC-2, OBC-1)
Age limit: Candidates should be between 18-27 years as on dated 4.07.2010.
Qualification: Candidates should be Matriculation or equivalent from Government recognized Board and having a typing speed of 30 w.p.m in English or 25 w.p.m in Hindi on manual typewriter or A typing speed of 35 w.p.m. in English or 30 w.p.m. in Hindi on computer.
Desirable: Candidates should be graduate with having knowledge of Computer Operation.
