The Department of Teacher Education and Extension (DTEE) is a constituent unit of the National Council of Educational Research and Training ( NCERT ) . NCERT was established in 1961 by the Government of India under the Ministry of Human Resource Development. It assist and advise the governments at the Centre and in States in the implementation of their policies for education, especially to bring about qualitative changes in school education and teacher preparation. Five statutory committees, viz. Governing Council, Executive Committee (chaired by the Union Minister of Education), Finance Committee, Establishment Committee and Programme Advisory Committee governs the council.

NCERT invites applications for the following posts on contract basis :

1. 1 post is for Consultant
   Salary : Rs. 40000/- per month ( Consolidated )
   Qualification : Candidate should have masters degree in Science/Social Sciences / Humanities/Education with minimum 10 years of experience of conducting research projects at Regional/ National level in the filed of teacher education . Ph.D. in Education or published work of equivalent standard is desirable.
   Date of interview : 2nd August 2010
   Time : 10.00 AM
2. 2 posts are for Research Associates
   Salary : Rs. 12000/- per month ( Consolidated )
   Qualification : Candidate should posses masters degree in Education/Science/Social Science/Humanities with 55% marks and the degree of Ph.D./ M.Phil is desirable with minimum 2 years of experience experience in the area of Teacher Education . Candidate should have qualified NET Examination .
   Date of interview : 2nd August 2010
   Time : 2.00 PM
3. 1 post is for Office Manager
   Salary : Rs. 15000/- per month ( Consolidated )
   Qualification : Candidate should be graduate with minimum 10 years of experience in administrative work of handling research projects.
   Date of interview : 3rd August 2010
   Time : 10.00 AM
4. 1 post for Computer Assistant
   Salary : Rs. 8000/- per month ( Consolidated )
   Qualification : Candidate should be graduate with MCA and proficiency in Computer software-MS Office, MS-Excel.
   Date of interview : 3rd August 2010
   Time : 2.00 PM
