Maitreyi College ( College of Delhi University ) was setup in 1967. It was named after Maitreyi-an eminent scholar of the Vedic period who was the wife of sage Yajnavalakya . It has faculty of 125 teachers and 93 members for administrative support. This college is an endeavour to contribute to Higher Education not only by enabling students to get a degree in Science, Commerce and Arts, but also inculcate in them the ability to think creatively and to possess good communication skills.

Pay scale : Rs. 15600 – 39100/- with Academic Grade Pay of Rs. 6000/- and other allowances.
Qualification : Candidate should have scored minimum 55% (50% for candidates belonging to SC / ST or those who passed their Master’s degree prior to 19-09-1991 and hold a Ph.D degree) or an equivalent grade of B in the 7 point scale with letter grades       O,A,B,C,D,E & F at the Master’s degree level in the relevant subject from an Indian University or an equivalent degree from a foreign University and should have qualified the National Eligibility Test (NET) for Assistant Professors / Lecturers conducted by the UGC/CSIR or a similar test accredited by the UGC.
