The affairs of the Kolkata Port Trust is under the administrative control of the Government and it was started in 1870 with the appointment of a Port Commission . It is the oldest major port in the country. It is India’s only reverie port with two dock systems – Kolkata Dock System at Kolkata with the oil wharves at Baj Baj and a deep water dock system at Haldia Dock Complex, Haldia for sea borne trade.

Kolkata Port Trust invites applications for the post of Trainee Pilots in possessions of following certificate of competencies issued by the Director General of Shipping, Government of India :

TRAINEE PILOTS
No. of vacancies : 15 posts

1. Master ( FG ) / Dredge Master Grade – I
   Monthly consolidated remuneration : At the bottom of regular pay scale of Rs. 14500-350-18700/- which will be minimum Rs. 40000/- per month in the pre-revised scale.
   Training Period : 23 months
2. 1st Mates ( FG ) Dredge Master Grade – II
   Monthly consolidated remuneration : Rs. 35000/-
   Training period : 29 months
3. 2nd Mates ( FG ) / B.Sc Nautical Science / Dredge Mate Grade – I
   Monthly consolidated remuneration : 30000/-
   Training Period : 44 months

Age limit for all the categories : Candidate should not be more than 45 years of age.
Salary after successful completion of training : Rs. 60000/- per month.

Last date of receipt of applications : 20th August 2010
