Brahmaputra Board was established on 11th January 1982 by the government of India under the Ministry of Irrigation (now renamed as Ministry of Water Resources). The Board consists of 21 Members. Its headquarter is situated at Guwahati. It carry out surveys and investigations in the Brahmaputra Valley and prepare the Master Plan for control of floods, bank erosion and improvement of drainage in the Valley. It also prepare detailed project report and estimate in respect of the dams and other projects in the Master Plan as approved by the Central Govt. and indicate in each case the cost attributable to different purposes or uses.

Brahmaputra Board invites applications for the following posts:

1. Under Secretary (Establishment) (Ministerial Cadre)
   no. of posts: 1
   Pay scale: Rs. PB-3 Rs.15600-39100 with GP of Rs.6600/-
   Qualifications: Candidate should be graduate and should hold analogous post on regular basis under the Central Government/State Government/Union Territory Administrations / State Electricity Boards/Public Sector Undertakings/Autonomous Bodies.
2. Section Officer ( Secretariat )
   No. of posts: 1
   Pay scale: PB-2 Rs.9300-34800 with GP of Rs.4600/-
   Qualifications: Candidate should hold analogous post with 3 years of regular service in the grade of Superintendent Gr.I.
3. Stenographer Grade II
   No. of posts: 1
   Pay scale: PB-2 Rs.9300-34800 with GP of Rs.4200/-
   Qualifications: Candidate should hold analogous post on regular basis with 5 years of regular service in the grade of of Stenographer Gr.II.Must have passed school leaving Certificate Examination or equivalent from a recognised university/Board and having 100 words per minute speed in English/Hindi Shorthand and 40 words per minute in English/Hindi Typewriting.

Age limit: Candidate should not be more than 56 years of age.
