The Indira Gandhi Medical College & Research Institute ( IGMCRI ) was started by the Government of Puducherry. It is an autonomous institution for higher studies in medical line and is permitted by MCI. It is situated in the campus of Mahatma Gandhi Medical Colleges.

Applications are invited by IGMCRI from Indian Nationals for the following posts :

1. 1 post is for Director
   Age limit : Maximum 64 years
   Pay scale : Rs. 37400- 67000/- with GP of Rs. 10000/-
   Total Emolument : Rs. 129454/-
   Qualification : candidate should posses medical qualification OR PG qualification e.g. MS / MD or equivalent.
   Experience : At least 10 years of teaching experience as professor / associate professor / reader in a medical college.
2. 1 post for Dean
   Age limit: Maximum 64 years
   Pay scale : Rs. 37400- 67000/- with GP of Rs. 10000/-
   Total Emolument : Rs. 128454/-
   Qualification : candidate should posses Medical Qualification included in schedule I & II with Post Graduate qualification .
   Experience : At least 10 years of experience in a medical college as a professor .
3. 1 post for Medical Superintendent
   Age limit : Maximum 64 years
   Pay scale : Rs.37400- 67000/- with GP of Rs. 10000/-
   Total Emolument : Rs. 128454/-
   Qualification : Candidate should posses masters degree in Hospital Administration .
   Experience : At least 10 years of experience in a major Teaching recognised hospital in a senior administrative capacity.
4. 10 posts are for Professors
   Subjects : Anatomy, Physiology, Forensic Medicine, Community Medicine, Paediatrics, Orthopaedics, Ophthalmology, ENT, Anaesthesiology, Radio Diagnosis.
   Age limit : Maximum 60 years
   Pay scale : Rs.37400 – 67000/- with GP Rs. 10000/-
   Total Emolument : Rs.128454/-
   Qualification : Candidate should posses the degree of M.Sc & Ph.D both in the faculty of medicine.
   Experience : At least 3 years of experience as an Associate professor in the relevant subject with minimum 4 research publications in index / National Journals.
5. 20 posts are for Associate Professors
   Subjects : Anatomy, Pathology, Forensic Medicine, General Medicine, TB & Chest Diseases, Paediatrics, General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Obst. & Gynae. , Anaesthesiology, Dentistry , Radio Diagnosis.
   age limit : Maximum 58 years.
   Pay scale : Rs. 37400 – 67000/- with GP Rs. 8700/-
   Total Emoluments: Rs.114309/-
   Qualifications : Candidate should posses the degree of M.Sc & Ph.D both in the faculty of medicine.
   Experience : At least 4 years of experience as an Assistant professor in the relevant subject with minimum 2 research publications in index / National Journals.
6. 21 posts for Assistant professors
   Subjects : Forensic Medicine, Radio Diagnosis, Anaesthesiology, Obst. & Gynae., Orthopaedics, General Surgery, Paediatrics, General Medicine, Community Medicine.
   Age limit : Maximum 50 years
   Pay scale : Rs.15600 – 39100/- with GP Rs. 6600/-
   Total Emolument : Rs.77677/-
   Qualification : Candidate should posses the degree of M.Sc & Ph.D both in the faculty of medicine.
   Experience : At least 3 years of experience in the relevant subjects in a recognised medical college as Resident/ Registrar/ Tutor.
7. 33 posts for Tutor/ Demonstrator
   Subjects : Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, Pathology, Microbiology, Forensic Medicine, Community Medicine, Dentistry.
   Age limit : Maximum 32 years
   Pay scale : Rs. 15600 – 39100/- with GP Rs. 5400/-
   Total Emolument : Rs. 45354/-
   Qualification : Candidate should posses the degree of M.sc with Ph.D or D.Sc in the Faculty of Medicine.
8. 28 posts are for Senior Residents
   Subjects : General Medicine, Paediatrics, General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Ophthalmology, ENT, Obst. & Gynae., Radio Diagnosis, anaesthesiology.
   Age limit : Maximum 33 years
   Pay scale : Rs. 15600 – 39100/- with GP Rs. 6600/-
   Emolument : Rs.71773/-
   Qualification : Candidate should posses PG degree / Diploma in the respective subjects.
   Experience : at least 3 years of experience in the relevant subject in a recognised medical college after MBBS.
9. 47 posts are for Junior Residents
   Subjects : General Medicine, TB & Chest Disease, Dermatology, Psychiatry, Paediatrics, General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Ophthalmology, ENT. Obst. & Gynae.
   Age limit : Maximum 32 years
   Pay scale : Rs. 15600 – 39100/- with GP 5400/-
   Emolument : Rs.45354/-
   Qualification : Candidate should posses medical qualification included in schedule I & II of the 3rd schedule of Indian Medical Council Act 1956 .
