IIRS ISRO Vacancy for JRF 2010


Indian Institute of Remote Sensing (IIRS) was formed in 1966. It was formerly known as Indian Photo-Interpretation Institute (IPI). It is a training and educational institute set up for developing trained professional in the field of Remote Sensing, Geo informatics and GPS Technology for Natural Resources and Disaster Management. It provides education at PG level in the application of Remote Sensing and Geo informatics for natural resource management.

It invites applications from Indian Nationals for the following posts:

  1. Modelling land Subsidence (RISAT – UP Project )
    Code: 7.7.2.1
    No. of post: 1
    Qualification: Candidate should have PG Degree in Geology/Applied Geology/ Geophysics / Physics / Mathematics with at least two subjects from Mathematics / Physics / Geology at
    graduate level.
  2. Snow/Glacier Studies ( RISAT-UP Project )
    Code: 7.3.1.2
    No. of posts: 1
    Qualifications: Candidate should be B.E./B.Tech. in Civil Engineering/Computer Sciences / Electronics.
  3. Hydrological modeling in Ganga Basin (Climate Change Project)
    Code: 896-16
    No. of posts: 2
    Qualifications: Candidate should be B.E/B.Tech in Civil Engg. or M.Sc/M.Sc.(Tech)/
    M.Tech. in Geology/Applied Geology or M.Sc.(Agriculture) in Soil Science/Agronomy or M.Sc.
    in Geography and Knowledge in Remote Sensing is desired.
  4. Sea Level rise and salt water ingress (Climate Change Project)
    Code: 896-17
    No. of posts: 1
    Qualifications: Candidate should be M.Sc./M.Sc.(Tech)/M.Tech. in Marine Science / Geology / Applied Geology and Knowledge in Remote Sensing is desired.
  5. Rainfall thresholds for landslides (DMSP Project)
    No. of post: 1
    Qualifications: Candidate should be M.Sc./M.Sc.(Tech)/M.Tech. in Geology/Applied Geology / Geophysics and Knowledge in Remote Sensing is desired.

Fellowship : Rs. 12,000/- per month + HRA @20% + Medical as per rule.

Age limit: candidates should not be more than 30 years.
