Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical science ( IGIMS ) was formed in 1983. It is based on the pattern of All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi. It provides super specialty medical facilities in Bihar. It is an apex centre for delivery of health and medical care of highest standard. It also tries its best to improve the health service in the State through appropriate linkage and referral system with Medical Colleges and District and Sub divisional hospitals.

IGIMS invites applications from Indian Nationals for the teaching posts and the details are as follows:

1. Additional Professor
   Age limit: Candidate should not be more than 50 years.
   Pay scale: PB-4 Rs.37400-67000/-+ GP of Rs.9500/-+ NPA
   Broad Specialty- Ophthalmology, Histo-Pathology
   Super Speciality- Neuro-Surgery, Endocrinology
2. Associate Professors
   Age limit: Candidate should not be more than 50 years.
   Pay scale: PB-4 Rs.37400-67000/-+ GP of Rs.9000/-+ NPA
   Broad Specialty- Orthopaedic, Ophthalmology, Pathology, Haematology
   Super Speciality- Neuro-Surgery, Cardiology, Neurology, Oncology, Pneumnology.
3. Assistant Professor
   Age limit: Candidate should not be more than 50 years.
   Pay scale: PB-3 Rs.15600-39100/-+ GP of Rs.8000/-+ NPA
   Broad Specialty- Orthopaedic, Ophthalmology, Radiology, Virology
   Super Specialty- G.I.Surgery, Neuro-Surgery, Paediatric Surgery, Nuclear Medicine, Neuro-Medicine
4. Medical Officer- (Surgical and Medical) (Non Teaching Consultant)
   Age limit: Candidate should not be more than 50 years.
   Pay scale: PB-3 Rs.15600-39100/-+ GP of Rs.6600/-+ NPA
5. Senior Resident
   Department: Nephrology, Paediatric Surgery, Neuro-Surgery, G.I. Surgery, Neuro-Medicine
   Age limit: Candidate should not be more than 35 years.
   Pay scale: PB-3 Rs.15600-39100/-+ GP of Rs.6600/-+ NP

Application fees: DD of Rs.500/- drawn in favour of Director, IGIMS, Patna payable at Patna.
Note: Interested candidate should send application form along with the DD through registered/speed post to the Director, IGIMS, Sheikhpura, Patna-14 (Bihar) before the last date.
