Government Medical College and Hospital ( GMCH ) Chandigarh was started by the Government of India under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare. The hospital, intending to meet the medico social needs of various communities of different economic status, has been obliged to adjust its various services/facilities of general nature and teaching to the present requirements of the society in North India. It provides comprehensive health care, encompassing preventive, primitive, curative and rehabilitative health care to the residents of North India drawn from the urban/semi-urban and rural areas.

GMCH invites applications for the various posts in the department of of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation and the details are :

1. 1 post for Reader
   Age limit : Maximum 50 years
   Emolument : Rs. 55000/-
   Qualification : Candidate should have done basic University or equivalent qualification
   included in any one of the Schedules to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 (102 of 1956) and must be registered in a State Medical Register or Indian Medical Register or MD in PMR or DNB in PMR duly recognized by M.C.I with 3 years of experience.
2. 1 post for Senior Lecturer
   Age limit : Maximum 50 years
   Emolument : Rs. 47500/-
   Qualification : Candidate should have done basic University or equivalent qualification
   included in any one of the Schedules to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 (102 of 1956) and must be registered in a State Medical Register or Indian Medical Register. or DNB or M.D. in PMR duly recognized by M.C.I with 3 years experience.
3. 2 posts are for Senior Residents
   Age limit : Maximum 33 years for PG Degree holders and 35 years for Post Doctoral degree holders.
   Emolument : Rs. 19100/-
   Qualification : Candidate should have done basic University or equivalent qualification
   included in any one of the Schedules to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 (102 of 1956) and must be registered in a State Medical Register or Indian Medical Register.
4. 1 post for Physiotherapists
   Age limit : 18 – 30 years
   Emolument : Rs. 5480/-
   Qualification : Candidate should have the degree of B.Sc. (Physiotherapy) OR 3 years of Diploma in Physiotherapy with 2 years of experience as Physiotherapist in an institute.

Period of contract : 1 year

Last date : 14th August 2010
