Anna University Tiruchirappalli was started on 1st February 2010 by the Government of Tamilnadu . It is a Technical university. All the examination related activities in this university are being computerized to improve the efficiency of the system. It has 7 University Campuses and 2 Government Engineering colleges, there are 77 self financing Engineering Colleges, 8 Stand alone Institutions offering M.B.A. course, 2 Stand alone Institutions offering M.C.A. course and 1 Stand alone Institution offering B.Arch – Architecture course in the districts of Ariyalur, Cuddalore, Dindigul, Nagappattinam, Perambalur, Pudukkottai, Ramanathapuram, Sivagangai, Thanjavur, Tiruchirappalli, Tiruvarur, and Theni are affiliated to this University.

Anna University invites applications for teaching jobs in various departments and the details are as follows:

1. Lecturer
   No. of posts: 21 ( Mechanical Engineering – 1, Computer science and engineering – 2, Bio Technology – 2, Mathematics – 5, Physics – 6, Chemistry – 3, English – 3 )
2. Assistant Professors
   No. of posts: 99 ( Civil Engineering-21, Mechanical Engineering-18, Electrical Engineering-13, Computer science engineering-18, Physics-3, Chemistry-2, English-2, Computer Applications-4, Nanoscience & Technology-2 )

Pay scale for each department: Rs. 15600-39100/- with AGP of Rs. 6000/-
Qualifications for the department of Civil Engineering , Mechanical Engineering,  Electrical Engineering, Computer science and engineering and bio technology: Candidate should have the degree of BE/B.Tech and ME/M.Tech in relevant branch with First Class.
Qualification for the department of Nanoscience and Technology: Candidate should have the degree of M.E / M.Tech in Nanoscience with first class or equivalent.
Qualification for the department of Computer application : Candidate should have the degree of BE/B.Tech and MCA with First class or equivalent in either BE / B.Tech or MCA.
Qualification for the department of Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and English: Candidate should have passed postgraduate degree in the relevant subject with at least 55% marks and should have passed the exam of  UGC/ CSIR/ JRF/ NET/ SLET/ SLST in relevant branch.
Note : Candidate should posses doctorate degree in the relevant field.
