Cochin Shipyard is a fully owned Government of India company established in 1972. It is engaged in building and repairing the largest vessels in India. It can build ships upto 1,10,000 DWT and repair ships upto 1,25,000 DWT. It also trains graduate engineers to marine engineers who later join ships both Indian and foreign as 5th Engineers. It is the largest and the premier Shipyard in the Country.

Cochin Shipyard Ltd. invites applications for the following posts :

1. Junior Technical Assistant
   no. of posts : 8
   Pay scale : Rs. 9300 – 22200/-
   Qualification : Candidate should hold 1st class Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical/Civil/ Instrumentation/ Electronics.
   Experience : At least 4 years of experience in measurement of work in Hull, Engineering, Electrical, Civil, Preparation of Reports, Stores and Material Accounting, Updating ERP System, Man hour Booking, Record and Report Generation.
2. Junior Commercial Assistant
   No. of posts : 4
   Pay scale : Rs. 9300 – 22200/-
   Qualification : Candidate should have 3 years of Diploma in Commercial Practice/Computer Science/ Information Technology.
   Experience : Minimum 4 years of experience in matters relating to Office work, Updating ERP System, Man hour Booking, Data entry, Record and Report Generation, maintenance of files, registers and records in a Shipyard/Heavy Engineering Industry and must be Computer savvy.
3. Welder cum Fitter
   No. of posts : 31
   Pay scale : Rs. 8900 – 18500/-
   Qualification : Candidate should have passed SSLC, ITI or All India National Trade Test in any one of the following trades or equivalent qualifications in the case of Ex-Servicemen.
   Experience : Experience as Pipe Fitter including pipe shop experience such as cutting, bending, fabrication, welding, pressure testing, surface treatment etc.
4. Painter
   No. of posts : 3
   Pay scale : Rs. 8900 – 18500/-
   Qualification : Candidate should have passed SSLC ITI and All India National Trade Test (National Apprenticeship Certificate) in the trade of Painter (Marine/General)/Fitter/Sheet Metal Worker or equivalent qualification in the case of Ex-Servicemen.
   Experience : At least 5 years of experience as Painter (Marine) in Shipbuilding/ Ship repair yard or Heavy Engineering Industry.
5. Fitter ( Electrical )
   No. of posts : 3
   Pay scale : Rs. 8900 – 18500/-
   Qualification : Candidate should have passed SSLC ITI and All India National Trade Test (National Apprenticeship Certificate) in the trade of Electrician or equivalent qualification in the case of Ex-Servicemen.
   Experience : Minimum 5 years of experience as Mechanic or Electrician looking after the operation of Sub station, installation of HT/LT switchgears, transformers, maintenance of electrical equipments in a Shipbuilding/ Ship repair yard or Heavy Engineering Industry.
6. Crane Operator
   no. of posts : 6
   Pay scale : Rs. 8900 – 18500/-
   Qualification : Candidate should have passed SSLC ITI and All India National Trade Test (National Apprenticeship Certificate) in the trade of Electrician or equivalent qualification in the case of Ex-Servicemen.
   Experience : Minimum 2 years of experience in operating EOT cranes in a Shipbuilding/ Ship repair yard or Heavy Engineering Industry.
7. Semi Skilled Rigger
   No. of posts : 10
   Pay scale : Rs. 8400 – 16200/-
   Qualification : Candidate should have passed at least IV standard.
   Experience : Minimum 5 years of experience in Rigging of which three years in rigging of heavy duty machine parts, assisting in the erection of machinery/ equipment etc, in a Shipbuilding/ Ship repair yard or Heavy Engineering Industry. Good knowledge of splicing works of wire ropes.
