The Central Inland Fisheries Research Institutes (CIFRI) is the oldest premier research institute in the field of inland fisheries research and training in India. The main objectives of the institute were to conduct investigations for a proper appraisal of inland fisheries resources of the country and to evolve suitable methods for their conservation and optimum utilization.The Institute has the distinction of evolving and popularizing technologies on fish seed prospecting from rivers; fish seed transportation; induced breeding and nursery management of carps; bundth breeding of Chinese carps; composite fish culture; aquatic weed control; air-breathing fish culture; integrated fish farming; sewage fed fish culture; fisheries management of small reservoirs; brackish water fish farming and farming of edible snails.The Institute has developed protocols for scientific fisheries management in small, medium and large reservoirs in the country.

CIFRI invites applications for the following positions:

T-6 (Senior Technical Assistant)
Posts: 1 (UR)
Remuneration: Candidates will get remuneration of Rs.15600-39100.
Age limit: Candidates should not be more than 35 years.
Qualification: Candidates should have a degree of M.F.Sc or M.Sc (Zoology) with specialization in Fisheries.
Desirable: Candidates should have a 3 years of experience in inland fisheries.
T-3 (Laboratory Technician)
Posts: 2 (UR-1, SC-1)
Remuneration: Candidates will get remuneration of Rs.5200-20200.
Age limit: Candidates should not be more than 30 years.
Qualification: Candidates should have a degree of B.F.Sc.
Desirable: Candidates should have a good working knowledge in computers.

Note: Interested candidates should submit their applications in the prescribed proforma in favour of the Senior Administrative Officer,Central Inland Fisheries Research Institute (ICAR), Barrackpore, Kolkata – 700 120 within 30 (thirty) days from the date of appearance of the Advertisement in the Newspaper which is extendedable by 7(seven) days in case of candidates residing in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep, Ladakh Division of J & K, States in N.E. Region and Sikkim.
