The Berhampur University was established on 2nd January 1967. It offers higher education to the people of Orissa and foster socio – economic growth of region. The campus of this university is compiled with 8 teaching blocks, 8 hostels, a health centre, an Engineering Office, a guest house, an M.E. School, a High School/Junior College, a Library, a Museum-cum-Archival Cell, a landing ground, a Play ground, a Sports Council centre, a shopping complex, a Canteen, an S.B.I. Branch, a Post Office, three temples and an Administrative Building with a Distant Education Cell and a College Development Council.

  1. Professor
    No. of posts : 2
    Department : History , Political Science
    Pay scale : Rs. 37,400-Rs.67,000/- with AGP of Rs. 10,000/-
    Qualification : Candidate should posses Ph.D. qualification(s) in the concerned / allied / relevant discipline and published work of high quality, actively engaged in research with evidence of published work with a minimum of 10 publications as books and/or research/ policy papers.
    Experience : At least 10 years of teaching experience in university/college, and/or experience in research at the University / National level institutions/industries, including experience of guiding candidates for research at doctoral level.
  2. Reader
    No. of posts : 2
    Department : Chemistry, Placement Officer( Business Administration )
    Pay scale : Rs. 15600 – 39100/- with AGP of Rs. 8000/-
    Qualification : Candidate should posses Ph.D. Degree in the concerned/allied/relevant disciplines with masters degree .
    Experience : At least 8 years of experience of teaching and/or research in an academic/research position equivalent to that of Lecturer in a University, College or Accredited Research Institution/industry excluding the period of Ph.D. research with evidence of published work and a minimum of 5 publications as books and/or research/policy papers.
  3. Lecturer
    No. of posts : 36
    Department : Botany, Chemistry, Commerce, Business Administration, Economics, Computer science, Electronic Science, English, History, Law, IR & PM, J & MC, Marine Sciences, Mathematics, Oriya, Physics, Zoology, Political Science, Pharmacy.
    Pay scale : Rs. 15600 – 39100/- with AGP of Rs. 6000/-
    Qualification : candidate should posses 55% marks at masters degree in the relevant subjects and should have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC like SLET/SET.
  4. Students Welfare Officer
    No. of posts : 1
    Pay scale : Rs. 9300 – 34800/- with AGP of Rs. 5400/-
    Qualification : candidate should posses PG Degree with minimum 55% marks .
    Experience : at least 5 years of experience in educational institution.
  5. Micro Analysts
    No. of posts : 1
    Pay scale : Rs. 9300 – 34800/- with AGP of Rs. 4600/-
    Qualification : Candidate should have the degree of M.Sc in Chemistry.
  6. Assistant Librarian
