All India Radio (AIR) has been distinctive part of the Indian way of life for about 75 years. In 1927, it had started in a small scale in the form of radio clubs. With one of the largest network of SW/MW/FM transmitters, AIR, reaches the remotest corners of the country to serve the people. Doordarshan Network in India is divided into 5 zones. North, South, East, West & North East Zones. There are 11 Doordarshan Kendras, 16 High Power Transmitters & large number of Low Power Transmitters  to telecast various programmes of Doordarshan terrestrially. While AIR services are operated through Primary Channels, the National Channel, Commercial Broadcasting Services , FM Channels & External Services. Today AIR has a network of 213 broadcasting centers covering 90% of the area & almost reaching the entire population.

All India Radio and Doordarshan invites applications for the following positions from eligible candidates:

Engineers Assistants
Posts: 128 (SC-52, ST-32, OBC-18, UR-26)
Age limit: Candidates should be between 18-27 years as on 2.08.2010
Remuneration: Candidates will get remuneration of Rs.9300-34800/- with allowances as admissible.
Qualification: Candidates should have 3 years Diploma in Radio/ Telecommunication/ Electrical/
Electronics/ Information Technology/ Electrical Communication Engineering recognised by Government of India. OR Candidates should have a relevant Degree with Physics as one of the subjects from a recognised University. OR Degree in Engineering in the relevant field from a recognised University OR Diploma in Sound recording and Sound Engineering awarded by Film and Television Institute of India, Pune.
Desirable: Knowledge of Wireless or Radio Engineering.

Note: Upper Age limit is relaxable for SC/ST/OBC/ Departmental Candidates/Ex-serviceman/PH candidates.
Written Test : The recruitment will be made on the basis of Written Test of Two hours duration scheduled to be held on 24.10.2010 (Sunday) from 1100 hrs to 1300 hrs at different centres.
