The Airports Authority of India (AAI) was established on 1st April 1995. It is a result of merging of International Airports Authority of India and the National Airports Authority. Its main aim is to accelerate the integrated development, expansion and modernization of the operational, terminal and cargo facilities at the airports in the country conforming to international standards. AAI controls 125 Airports, which include 11 International Airports, 08 Customs Airports, 81 Domestic Airports and 25 Civil Enclaves at Defence Airfields. It has entered into a Joint Venture at Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Bangalore and Nagpur Airports to upgrade these Airports and emulate the world standards.

AAI invites applications from Indian Nationals for the post of Junior Assistant at various Airports in Southern Region and the details are as following :

Junior Assistant ( Fire Service )
No. of vacancies : 244 posts
Age limit : Minimum 18 years and Maximum 30 years as on 13th August 2010
Pay scale : Rs.5500-140-7180-160-10060/- and other allowances as per rules (under revision).
Qualification : Candidate should have passed 12th Examination or equivalent from recognized Board and the degree of ITI/Sub-officer Course/Experience in any Fire Service/BTC Course from AAI Fire Training Establishment is desirable. Candidate should also have valid heavy driving license.

Centre of examination : Hyderabad, Madurai & Mangalore.

Last date for the receipt of application : 27th August 2010
Application fees : DD of Rs. 100/- drawn in favour of Airports Authority of India, payable at Chennai
